Who are Anniss + Barton?
We’re Kurt Anniss and Nathan Barton - a Melbourne-based photography and film duo with a knack for creating bold, conceptual, and beautifully crafted campaigns.

What do you specialise in?
We specialise in high-end photography and cinematic film production, particularly in beauty, fashion, and brand storytelling.
Our clients come to us for work that looks premium but feels human - real texture, honest connection, and emotion that cuts through the noise.
Do you only shoot fashion, hair and beauty?
Not at all. While our roots are in people based content and in the hair, beauty and fashion worlds - where visual storytelling is everything - our production style suits any brand that values creativity, polish, and emotional depth.
We regularly shoot fashion, product, lifestyle, and campaign content for Australian and international clients who want a distinctive visual identity. We’ve shot everything from a paper-clip to a triple-trailer road-train next to a container ship - and anything in between.
Where are you based?
Our studio is based in South Yarra, Melbourne, right in the heart of the fashion district.
We also travel nationally and internationally for campaigns, collaborations, and large-scale productions.
Do you handle the whole production process?
Yes — concept to completion is our specialty.
We (can) take care of every detail, including:

What’s your creative process like?
Every project begins with conversation and collaboration.
We get to the heart of what your brand stands for - then craft imagery that amplifies it.
Our process is structured but fluid:
Brief & Vision Session – Align on story, purpose, and style.
Moodboards & Pre-production – Build visual references, casting, styling, and lighting plans.
Shoot Day(s) – Bring the concept to life with energy, precision, and the occasional caffeine-fueled laugh.
Post & Delivery – Expert retouching, editing, and finishing for every format you need.
Do you work with agencies or direct with brands?
Both.
We regularly collaborate with creative agencies, PR firms, and in-house brand teams, as well as direct-to-client projects for founders, designers, and entrepreneurs.
We adapt to any workflow — from high-volume campaigns to intimate brand shoots.
How far in advance should we book?
For campaign or brand work, we recommend 4–6 weeks’ notice to allow time for pre-production.
For smaller social or portrait shoots, 1–2 weeks is usually fine depending on availability.
(We’ll always do our best to fit you in — but coffee bribes don’t hurt.)
What does it cost to work with you?
Every project, client & budget is unique, so we quote based on:

Absolutely.
All our work includes professional post-production handled in-house to ensure the final imagery maintains our signature look and polish.
We can also collaborate with your preferred editors or colourists if needed.
Can you help with casting, hair, makeup, or styling?
Yes — we work with a trusted network of leading artists and stylists across Australia.
Whether your shoot requires editorial precision, natural minimalism, or full creative direction, we’ll assemble the right team to bring it to life.
Do you offer video as well as photography?
Yes — motion is half our DNA.
We create cinematic films for product launches, brand stories, interviews, and social campaigns.
From short-form Reels to full-scale commercials, we handle scripting, shooting, and post-production in-house.
